MONARK LOOT! A raffle bike win! and some parts =)

Went for a drive last night to pic all this up. The guy had parted out the bikes and this was what was left (bummer i know). He had stripped the mens bike that had 4-5 layers of paint and primered it. I'm almost tempted to keep it primer color.

looks like I'll be building a mens monark rat soon (anyone got some parts?). The womens frame (and likely crank) will be sold.

The rusty seat is cool but looks like it might be missing a front spring (or something) and obviously needs to be recovered. That seat alone weighs as much as a frame.


Anyone know how to date/id the frames?


Last saturday I did a cruiser scavenger hunt. My team won (by a lot). Then the bar had a raffle for two bikes and guess who won!? 2010 Trek Classic. That bike is SOLID.

Monarks are dated by the serial number. Your men's frame is a 1952, they rolled over to 7 digits that year. -Adam

That one is 53. There's a serial number list in the NBJ Introduction to Classic Bicycles book. Goes from 34 to 54. -Adam
