Hello from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
I have a friend trying to find out more info on his Monark bike. Serial #1078579. Can anyone direct me to a source for that info?
Thanks.
I now have some pictures of the bike, if that would help with someone telling me more about it!?
(Sorry about the blurry picture)

It's a Raleigh made for Huffy who branded it a Monark. That puts it between ~'58 (after Huffy purchased Monark) to '63 (after '63 Huffy made their own lightweights). It's hard to see in the pic...but, if it has a twist grip shifter it is a '63.

Interesting bike!

Easiest way to identify a Raleigh bike is the rear dropouts

See the eye potion.its a raliegh rebrand much like our glider (in Canada) sports frame.very nice bike.

If you're considering changing bottom bracket verify if it's a raliegh thread 27 TPI or BSA standard 24 tpi. If your drop outs look like that your Raleigh threading
