monark super deluxe restore question

getting ready to start on my 51 super deluxe. it has the single spring fork, which is more desireable, the single or the double. mines complete but its gonna have to be rechromed and im having a very hard time getting the top crown nut of because the whole spring assemble is turning with it. but i saw on ebay someone is making and selling reproduction double spring monark forks for 110. anyone use these? quality. not sure which ones to go with. i thought about going with the original color but mine was the black frame with salmon pink. not sure how much i like those colors. opinions please.

I have a Rocket type frame badged Speigle Airman that has the single spring springer . They are rarer , I've never seen one on a Super D , Mine seems a bit weak ( I'm over 200#) I had to stack a small helper spring to ride it , as the first trip out the fender contacted the tire & ejected me over the bars The repos have been known to have poor welds @ the crown , but reinforced ones are available on this site

I was going to ask if you meant the Knee Action springer , I thought you meant this type

I believe that your type of springer was first available in 1953 :?:here's a pic of my '53

dogdart..what year do you think mine is?and is that frontend original for that year? i thought it was a 51 only because the id tag on the bottom bracket starts out with 15. just figured it was reversed. the old guy i bought it off of said he got it from the attic of the old firestone business we had in town.

There is a book with monark serial numbers. Post your complete serial number and someone will tell you the year

I'd say that looks to be original , & with that style chain guard , it's a '53 or '54 , post the searial #'s and I'm sure someone will know for sure ( hey Adam )

i will post it tomorrow, im at work today until tomorrow morning. thanks. looks like im gonna try and keep the springer. just not to sure about the color.
