Buddy of mine scored this one while driving down to Austin from Dallas. He found it next to a trailer house and got it for peanuts. Him being a road bike guy traded me for a couple of road bikes I was going to flip anyway. ;)

Are you kidding me? Man, thats my grail. I wanna KOS so bad but I can never afford one so I just drool, pretty much like I`m doing right now lol.

Before any of you offer up your first born...

Once you build one up you realize that they aren't exactly the most comfortable of bikes to ride and eventually you get used to it and then the cool factor fades a bit. Then you're left with a $1000 bike that rides like anything else and only has one gear and you're afraid to leave it anywhere.

How do I know all of this you say?

They are nice to look at though.

Lambo, I have one I'm selling for a friend. Original parts but grips brake levers and tires. Candy red forks (painted and are nice), newer decals, rims look stripped of anno.

The chrome frame is basically perfect. No seat.

Let me know.

I know the "fear" feeling. Hard to ride a bike this close to NOS.

Hey Steve,

For me, it would be the only way to relive my childhood. Perhaps you rermember a while back I was on the hunt for an '83 Supergoose to copy my childhood bike. Finally found one, made a few mods to make it more like my old one (like yellow/red Z rims), and tried to ride it around. At 6'8" that was a challenge and sitting down and pedaling was impossible. Then while riding it around the neighborhood I crashed it. It seems my body weighed a bit much. I was really pumping hard and apparently, the torque tweaked the frame enough to let the chain slip off. All my weight came down on the pedal and I went flying. Nothing got damaged but my pride. I was sore for weeks though...40 year olds shouldn't do that. lol How come that never happened with any of my Stingrays?

In any case, as a kid I always wanted a KOS, but if I need one these days if I want to ride a BMX.

Also, you might be interested in knowing I saw a 100% original survivor 1983 Expert at the Monson bike show. Guy was asking $150 for it. Needed and OA bath and decals, and I really wanted it but I knew better. I was tempted just to flip it.

Oh well. So who wants to sell their KOS since they are unridable?
