I like the bike that karfer built so much i had to have one. . . so i built one!
I started out with a 60s model b.f. goodrich cycletruck i got from Chestnut hollow bicycles. just like karfer i had to cut the basket mounts off to mount the fork. I already had the chopper fork from choppers u.s. and the 3 inch front and rear tires with a two speed red-band bendix automatic on the rear and was just waiting to get the frame.
The sign plate that came with it wan't correct so i went to home depot and got some sheet metal and made my own. i went to the local bike shop and picked up some thrown away aero bars that i would use to make the clip-on handle bars. Witout priming it i blasted it with some krylon black to give it that 'worn in' look. Then i wet sanded it down, tapped at it with a screwdriver and other random tools to rough it up. I also put a schwinn stingray speedo in the top of the headset to cap it off. For a while i decided to keep the original sprocket on.
