I've seen a lot of people doing it. How do you spread your frame and fork to fit 3" tires? I'm wanting to put some thick bricks on my X-53 but I'm worried about clearance. Also, can I spread the springer fork without messing it up or should I get a new fork? Thanks

Maybe something here might help.

If not here try spreading rear stays in the search . Lots of people have come up with different
ways of doing it. The rear dropout area is easy. The front section sometimes requires cutting
out the bar between the stays and then spreading it and welding in another wider.
Some frames are not really made to allow for this.
