Hi, I’m MrVelo from Finland, Europe. I have always loved old bikes and different cycle cultures. I like also a lot idea of Hot Rod culture. Old stuff, newer technics. I like customs motorcycles, definitely old style. So I had an idea to build cruiser style bicycle so it could be build on 20’s

From starting point I had few old ladies bikes frames from 20’s and 30’s like German Wictoria Werke like in the following picture, similar not this one. Used frames were already in the condition were restoration is no more option.

Frames to pieces:

Some welding and more adjustment

And more tuning

Now it starts to look like planned:

Cream color tires, first test rides.

Then it went to welder. Small problems: old frame tube material contains too much coil. Difficult to get proper seams. But anyway most important is it looks good.

Welded with red tires

New fork and black painting

Fine tuning with fork and then bike was like this in Cycle Fair on february:

With carbide lamp and older saddle in the Hot Rod Fair

Second and better version is coming ….

A carbide lantern uses calcium carbide crystals and a water drip. When they combine, it produces acetylene gas, which burns in a reflector. Despite the gas, they're actually quite safe.

It's only when you throw a big handful of the stuff in enough water, like in a school's toilet for example, that it gets dangerously explosive. Not that I'd know anything about that.

Thanks for showing all the stages you went through to create this bike. The theme about using new techniques with old stuff shows in your final product, and it's great that you used parts that would have been melted for scrap anyhow. You really succeeded in making a low-rider with turn-of-the-century roots.
