just got this mercury off CL ! its got some nice patina on it but needs some clean up and of course some wheels might end up selling this one though dont have enough room in my house :lol:
oh and does anybody know how to date these i was told it was a 51 but just wanted to make sure

Mercury was the original badge that Murray built bikes under, in the late 30s. But, like most companies, they recycled the name. Yours does look early-mid 50s. I have tyhis one, got for free.

Mine is a middleweight, and they made it through at least 1958. -Adam
