Murray Sabre Flite FINISHED 7/27

My LBS was given this bike from a customer and they decided to pass it on to me. I'm guessing early 50's Murray Sabre Flite in good but filthy condition. My old lady's birthday is next Sunday, so I think I'll surprise her with this, all cleaned up of course I'll post pics of it when it's finished.

Thought I'd post a pic of my progress so far. The rims didn't clean up as nice as I thought, but they still look ok. The back fender has a bent brace that I need to straighten, and then it's done. I have some red tires on the way, just gotta keep my fingers crossed that they'll arrive before her birthday.

That bike is bad to the bone...They don't make em like they used to ...thats for shur..!!
Did you consider white tires at all for it...? Personally I would put white tires on it...But what do I know.. :wink: :lol:

I thought about white, but it just doesn't look right to me:

I also tried creme, brown, and even blue tires :? But the only thing that seems to work is either red or solid black tires.

Black works....I see some red striping on the bike all so the head badge.. :?: so I guess the red works too.
For get the tires that bike is sweet and will make a nice gift.

Got my tires from fedex today and finished the bike up. She'll be home around 6 tonight with a surprise sitting in the living room.

Thanks, I'm glad you like the reds on it afterall. The forks are a little tweeked and need some attention in the future, but I just wanted to get the bike done for her by today. This thing cruises great, she's gonna love it.
