Murray Sticker ?

Why does Murray have a sticker with numbers on it plus where it was built near the bottom bracket when they have the serial number stamped on the head tube?

Maybe because stickers don't last forever, or get painted over! They only did it from the late 70s on. -Adam

So it's not a Sears or Kmart thing instead of stamping on the bottom bracket they put a sticker with the number system for parts and so on like on Murray and other bikes sold by them.

No, I think it was just a Murray thing. The serials were still stamped on the frame, but only the sticker has the year on it. -Adam
