Hopefully Im posting this in the right area.
Decided to build some 1976 Schwinn Bicentennials for the wife and me to ride around on the 4th. I busted my a** to get these done in time and just barely made it. Finished them up. Took a shower. Loaded em and bounced to the festivities.
Started with a 1976 Schwinn Bicentennial Fair Lady in decent shape. Regreased/cleaned and steel wool'd some things.
Threw on some blue NOS Goodyear All Weather rear and Wingfoot front, NOS Wacky Wheeels inserts, NOS streamers, flags, basket, correct fenders, cup holder, Schwinn ball light etc ...
The boys '76 Stingray was a bit more challenging. It was super dirty and the cranks were frozen.
Switched out the cranks with another set of '76 cranks, replaced grips w/original red ones, added Schwinn ball light, cup holder, flags, 36" sissy bar with 1976 Nebraska bicentennial plate, blue NOS Goodyear Grasshopper slick, red NOS Goodyear All Weather front, red/white/blue valve covers and bell, 1976 Schwinn Stars and Stripes seat, NOS Wacky Wheeels inserts and scrubbed the heck outta the whole thing with steel wool...including taking both fenders off.
Loaded up.
MIssed the bike parade but at festivities regardless.
The radio dj had me bring the bike up some stage right before they counted down to the fireworks.
Cant forget about the shoes!!
Here's to bikes and the 4th!!
