Here's my introductory post..... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30754

I'm struggling to get ahead of the learning curve whilst trying to collect the (correct) parts for my first cruiser build. Today I bought some white walls for this bike in size 2.125 (after reading lots and lots on tire/wheel sizes-compatibility).

These are the tires from Niagracycles: CyclePro 26" x 2.125" K927 Cruiser Tire Whitewall (433343)

THEN, I went out to the garage to check the available fork spacing.... Here are some pics using the 26 X 1.75 tires that were on it.

Soooooo, the big question, are the new 2.125 tires going to fit the 2" of fork space I have???

The width needed for the larger size is also higher up on the fork than with the smaller ones. You'd have to put some hefty dents inside that fork to make it work. Heck, the tire that's on there is a little close for my taste.

I would think that you ask around and someone either local, or close , would give you a fork that will work. Not a high dollar item. Get your head tube length (usually longer on girls bikes) and see what you can find.

Thanks! I'm pretty open minded, the only caveat is I'd like to avoid the chunky old mtn. bike style fork, little too thick for the more subtle lines of the girls cruiser frame.

I'll be happy to swap forks and pay for shipping!

Here's 2 sets that I have, one is kind of a tubular streamlined fork, other is more like what you have and In my opinion would look better on the bike is the blue one, came off a Murry explorer and I run 2.125's on my huffy cruiser and I held them up and it clears that with no problem even a bit of free space on each side. Both would work though. the blue set also has screw in wheel locks that are pretty cool. PM me if you want them.
