Even though it's not "rat" by any means, I think most of you will still enjoy this. I like browsing through the bikes on this site, gives me ideas for future projects. This is the project I recently finished up, my ultimate city bike, or kind of a modern Irish pub bike. The frame is built (not by me) custom from scratch to fit me out of Italian Columbus tubing, the bar is titanium made by Groovy Cycleworks. My goal was to try and have all machined parts and not cast. The only cast parts I wound up with are the disc brake calipers. These are 700c X 50 road tires not 26"

beautiful. A bike like that with everything custom made would cost a fortune in Denmark.

Lots of Bling, Bling on there.....Looks great.

What are those handlebars?

The bars are LUV Handles from Groovy Cycleworks available in CroMo steel and titanium. And he'll paint them up real nice for you, too.

very very nice bike.

expensive parts on there too!

how do you like your LuV Handles? i thinking of buying a set for my MTB

Thanks. I couldn't afford that bike all at once now, that's over a year of thoughts and parts collecting coming together. My budget kept me to a couple of parts a month.

I love the Luv. That's my second one, I also run a steel one on my commuter/grocery getter bike. On my mountain bike I run a 17d bend Salsa Pro Moto flat bar. I like swept bars but prefer less sweep for off road, I'm even thinking of going to the 11d Salsa bar for the MTB.

That's just my preference, though. I much prefer the LUV over similar bars like the Space/Mary. I've never tried them but the Misfit FU and FU2 bars look good, too...as do the FloWing

I see the same...............love those white tires (what size are they), they really make the bike. A real head turner.

tires are Schwalbe Fat Franks in 29x2.0, also available in 26x2.35 in black, cream, & brown

the black tires are Michelin City 700x47, but I have replaced those with Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 29x2.0 for my black tires.

i bought a set of misfit fubar and while i liked the hand position i did not like the fact that i needed to put a crazy long stem to compensate for the back sweep so i went back to my old bar. the Luv seem to have resolve that problem but the price is just ouch!

That is SWEET!
Wow, nice nice job. I definitely prefer the Fat Franks, but then I'm kind of biased that way. To me, it looks more like a mtn. bike with the black tires.
Either way, something to be very proud of - keep it under lock and key when your butt's not on it!

Very nice bike, I like the attention to detail. The fact that you built a single speed Brakes and disc brake at that over the fixed gear craze style, says a lot for your riding style. I really like the rear dropouts and the chian is really differant, I don't beleive I've seen that type of chain before. You must be a Machinist to build a bike with all machined parts or just had to have a very unique machine. I won't ask the cost of such a peice of ridable art. Thank you for sharing.
