if you are building a fixie for the first time, the chainline should look similar to this:

i re-dished and re-spaced the stock wheel and slapped a 17t cog on, got single stack chainring bolts and used the original outer front 52t chainring. i got the bike locally for $30 with good tires, made sure everything was re-packed and adjusted as always. its fun to ride. because of my high gear i cant skid too well.

Nicely done - a word of warning though, fixies are ve-e-e-ery addictive. :mrgreen:

52/17 - yow! I'm only running 42/16 and it's a workout on the hills.

Skidding is easier with toe straps or clip-ons, but you're a lot more committed on the downhills...
