I found this old beauty about 75 miles from home. We took a road trip and snapped this "Atomic Momma" right up. I may have been more money in gas than I paid for her.

What do you guys think of her?

What do you think of the $40 I paid?

Nice original paint and graphics! That's 2 of those atomic bikes in one day posted here.

Can you see the serial number on the bb?

Bottom bracket, the round thing on the frame the cranks sit in. The number is usually stamped on the bottom.

That is what I thought bb meant and it is not there. I have some strange thoughts on this bike.

Like the fender paint scheme is wrong. Could it have been repainted .... Maybe but why the pinstripes and the very nice cream colored rims with pins that match the atomic logo? Also why is there a crappy torpedo badge on it?
Maybe it was an entry level bike and then some extras were added? There is just no pictured or much for history on this bike made for 1.5 years.

I need help on this .... Thoughts?

As I understand it, Columbia offered a number of correct badges to various retailers. And also allowed retailers to use their own badge.
Nice find.
It is all original colors.
Teal green was a popular color for that era.

Here's the 1955 (serial was found on the left rear frame dropout, which is where the rear wheel mounts) But, your serial should be on the underside of the crank frame housing (bb..bottom bracket). Goodyear (badged HiWay Patrol).
All original paint. This one possibly was a promotional giveaway at the Goodyear store.
