Starting point: Repop Schwinn Cruiser Six

What's planned:

Nexus 3 laced to a set of Sumo 26x1.75 rims (Araya 7x clones)
Brooks B17 Imperial saddle
175mm OPC (gonna keep the Schwinn chainwheel)
Bear Trap pedals
Oury MTB grips
Kenda K-Rad 26x2.35 tires (if a Bomber)
Lay Back seat post

Sturmey Archer thumb shifter designed for the Nexus 3

hah forgot about your haro stem, still would buy it off you. just didnt have money at the time when i asked if you'd sell but again now i dont have cash.. :roll:
anyway yeah i dig those 2pc bars man, should jump on them.. i had a set i wish i didnt sell but i wanted something.. then the seller flaked on me and that sucked 'was tryin to get a gaming pc from a guy on cl' but anyway..

i love bars like that.. i prob would have bought those bars awhile ago when i had $$ if they were like 8-9in rise.. them being shorter would be soo sweet on a 26in crusier/klunker man..

wish i didnt get flaked on after i sold off all the parts to this build :/
but what can you do.. :roll:

Tinkered around with it a bit this morning.

Took off the seat, chain guard, wheels, stem, and bars.

Installed the Nexus 3 wheelset, new chain, stem & bars (mock up bars for now)

Me too! I will surely post about it when the rest of the parts show up. Which I hope should be Friday.

I have been tempted to mount it on one of my other Nexus 3 equiped bikes. I also decided to go with Kenda Small Block 8 tires and Origin 8 Classic Lite saddle (for now).

All the parts came in! :mrgreen:

I threw on couple of the new parts this moring. Here are a few updated pics:

Renthal bars from tulsacruiser!

Sturmey Archer thumb shifter.

Fuji cranks w/44t chain ring & bear trap pedals.

All that is left to do is to install the new saddle, new tires & cables. Then adjust the brakes & shifter.

I believe so, they are very similar to the Sugino Maxy Cross.

I will be interested in how that shifter works.

The shifter works very well. I went for a decent ride on some trails down by the river today for a total of 6 maybe 7 miles, nothing to crazy. The shifter shifted smoothly.

This weekend I am going to put it through a greater test @ the White Mesa Bike Trails in San Ysidro, New Mexico.

I took her out & hit the trails yesterday!

I didn't make to where I had planned, so I ended up going to the Petroglyph National Monument - volcano trails in Albuquerque.

Waaaaaay too many rocks!
