I'm still learning more about bikes. I just ran into issues. My eliminator dropout is 4 1/4" width. Convert it to mm is 107mm. I seem can't find rear axle 5 gear cassette that narrow. I have several rear wheels with 5 gears cassettes. None of them fit this width. I also measured my wife's eliminator drop out. Its same width. Is this measure normal?

Here are the standards. http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html#standard

110 mm Rear older track, coaster brake and other single-speed hubs. Also, front hubs for Downhill bikes with 20 mm axles.
114 mm Rear 3-4-speed .
120 mm Rear 5-speed, Ultra 6, newer track hubs.

You should be able to spread the frame to fit a 120mm hub. Either spring it open or cold set it.

Thank you for all this information. Spread old frame is good idea for rookie to do?

..others may not agree but I have spread them with a 2 x 4 block of wood and a hammer. A white wood or spruce is soft enough not to dent the frame. Wrap the wood with a soft rag and usually no paint damage. Hit the block center 2 or 3 times and check measurement. Repeat.
