NE1 remove the seat tube??

Thinking of this for a cruiser to "open it up", i can weld for reinforcement and to set back the new seat back. any nice pics of some, any thoughts?

There are also modern incarnations of this concept done by some guys in Europe. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of them.
