Picked these up today. The scrap yard that is close to my house would never let people come in and look/buy stuff, but they decided to finally! So I swung by and this is what I found. $6.00 for both. One is really cool, but it's smaller frame I guess, about 15 inches or so from top of crank hole to top of seat post hole, has a wicked seat post too, and the seat (troxel) is actually soft and has no holes in it! The green one is about 20 inches on center post or whatever. Both have zero rust holes, and cranks & necks turn freely. I cleaned them up for these pics, they were brown. Neither has a headbadge so no clue what they are - but maybe somone can ID that changard graphic? anyways, just sharing. Cheers, T.

Not bad for the money. The seatpost on the first one is cool. I had one of those on my Military Build.

cool, thanks guys - then this is my first Columbia, so I am happy. Also 26" rims fit it, it appeared to be smaller, but that is even cooler. Straightened the forks, put some primer on them - found some rims, tubes tires in my junk, and replaced bars, they were broke. Took less than an hour, to get a $6.00 bike saved form scrap pile running & back in to use. Feels good. Kids are stoked! Me too :) :p

Oh, number is E226905, so I guess by chart above it's 1959 Columbia, but not sure....

this particular "middlewieght" is often found with tankskins, and usually solid forks, regardless of badge (mine's a goodyear (by columbia of course)).

NICE!! that one with the black fork looks like it would easy to ride long wheeies on !? i wonder what if you turned that seat stem around thee other way what it would look like ? oh yah i remember when i use to have hair like that

nice work on that columbia. not bad for a $6 dollar investment, especially when you have parts laying around to build it up. im supposed to get some schwinns from this guy at work soon, and i got plenty of parts to build whatever up.

I just paid $38 on ebay for a seat post just like the one on the Columbia. My plan was to turn it backwards but the angle is wrong and it hits the rails on the bottom of the seat. :( Now I have a $38 post I will have to put on my wife's bike. Since then, I bought a 3' piece of 13/16 stainless rod and will make my own posts. 8) Gary
