Need Bike Help

I got this Hiawatha Bicycle from a garage sale and cannot find any info on it. Does anyone know what year this could be and what the value of it is? So far on the front of the bike under the name brand symbol I got this # 15 WG6 24 1043, under the pedals J00371, and on the rear tire the word Bendit... My first old bike I've ever had and I know nothing. I thought about restoring it but I don't know if that will ruin the value, I don't even know if it is a male or female bike.

Look for the directions on this forum "how to post pictures". I am completely computer illiterate and figured out how to use the Photobucket site for my pictures. Its easy to use, but takes some fussing around until you figure it out. A picture will get everyones input for you.

That's a 1950's CWC made bike. Nice! The front fender is on backwards. Look for a Cw to the right of the serial number on the bottom bracket (where the J00371 is). It's a boy's bike.
