Got my base color sprayed today and need ideas for fender scallops. It is a '52 Monark. I need ideas, photos, whatever you like. I am ok with going custom one-off. The fenders will be striped along the edges for sure. Anything else goes. Here is a sample of a stock scallop-stripe below. I will be using maroon and cream (all my bikes seem to be that color but that's how they came).

Hey John, What model Monark is it? All the Super Deluxe models are really quite plain. The entire frame is one solid color and the fenders have 4 two-tone pin stripes down each edge and that's it. I'm not too familiar with any of the other models. If you are going full on custom you might want to look at some of the Columbia 5 star scallops for ideas. Theirs are a little more elaborate. I'll dig up some pics and email them to you. Can't wait to see it.

I think I have something. I will try to create this below to mimic the frame art which I am recreating. What do you think?

It's all in basecoat now. The design came out good. 5 hours of taping. Man...... But I could not pass up the temperature today. Should peel it in a few hours and clear it all tomorrow after work. Be ready to show off on Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

I'm replying to my own thread too much, ha. Here are some peeled photos. Clearcoat tomorrow.

I spray the stripe color, then tape it off, then spray the main color, weed the tape after it dries, then clear. I cheat on stripes. I mark the edge of the fender a half inch in with pencil marks every 2 inches, then lay the stripe tape below the marks. It works good but you do have to be particular to get the curve right.
