Hi guys, hope all is well....

I've been looking for a certain classic bicycle for years.... i saw it whilst on a trip to Berlin....
anyway, ive been able to find a few pictures on here of what it resembles....

like the first three images below the bike was very crude...thick wheels.... with the handle bars sloping downwards.....the grips on the handles were made of wood....with the brake part of the peddling system....there was only one gear....

one bike which i have found also is the pashley guv'nor (4th image) but this is a rolls royce in terms of leather grips, brakes etc compared to the one i saw.

thanks for all your help. i really dont know much about classic bicycles but i know what i like!

all the best

Barry

actually if anyone could identify the bike in the first 2 images that would be great. the more i look at it the more i think its it!

thanks again guys

I can't tell you who made the particular bikes, but I can tell you they would be very easy to replicate. Diamond frame bikes differ very little in design, even now. The rims are probably 28" wood, with single tube tires, skip tooth or block chain, fixed gear hub. The pashley is inspired by the english path racers of the past, its a very nice looking machine. I believe flying pigeon is coming out with a similar looking bike, which might be a bit more simple and probably less expensive.

i just picked up a prewar BFGoodrich (Schwinn made) road frame for $20 that would be a fine starter for any of those bikes. But then I also have a 1980's Huffy road frame that with the right components and paint could be made to look like any of those. Good luck in your quest.
