Last night I made an offer and got this CWC Hawthorne. I will probably end up parting it out. But, as fate would have it, it might be spared. I have an older gentleman who called me last night mintues after coming home wanting to see my project I'm selling AND this one. If this sale falls through, I will probably part this out. THE LIST OF ISSUE IS LONG ON THIS:
-FOUR layers of house paint all over the thing (green, red, light blue, dark blue and then original). It was blue like my project, but with yellow accents and not creme colored.
-The rear hub needs a complete overhaul. The crank needs to turn several times before anything catches and turns. The brakes don't work at all. It sounds like junkyard car trying to start when I try to pedal it.
-Front hub needs repacked
-Crank bearings are good but need regreased badly
-Stripped screw on tank

I am probably keeping the seat! I never know when I might need it. Looks like something out of Batman!
Incorrect to the bike, but period correct reflector.
Horn delete tank:
The bad part is, in the sunlight, I do kinda like that 50s pastel green color. But is is just the light, it looks horrid.
