Nothing wrong with zip ties. Winter 2015, I got my 2012 Focus pushed into an ice bank along the side of the road by some idiot in a jacked up pickup passing the other way who'd either rather hit me than get his tires within three feet of dirty snow or who couldn't (I'm sure he still can't) judge the size of his vehicle. Either way, the side of my rear bumper caught and got pulled back, breaking several brackets underneath. I made a hasty zip tie repair in my work parking lot and it's been that way since with nearly no outward sign of any injury beyond a small crack where the bumper cover curves back under the taillight. When I trade it in next year, it will be the same (the dealer won't even do much more than glance at it anyway as it already has 200k on it).
