I'm posting this here because I have no photos , yet. In the last week I've made some interesting finds. First a co-worker ask me if I wanted a couple of bikes he wanted to get out of his basement. Of course I said yes. He brought them to work the next day. Both are 26" mountain bikes. One's a Huffy and the other is a Trek 830. The trek is a 88 or 89 model , I believe.I think I'll swap the knobbie tires for road tires and put some miles on it.Today I went to a local indoor flea market, looking for bikes, of course.I bought 2 more mountain bikes for $20. a Nishiki Colorado and a Haro Extreme. The Haro has full suspension and road tires. They are not cheap department store bikes. Thanks :D

dang, sounds like you've scored some decent materials! get some pics up.

i'm doing that with an old 80's mountainbike. i put a BMX freewheel cog on it to make it a single-speed, put a springy old seat and some taller handlebars on it and i've been tooling around the neighborhood have a good old time.

but other than the fact that the seat is worn out with rusty springs and the handlebars are rusty, there's not much rat or rod about :(
