I'm new to this hobby/sport and live in Eastern Ohio , the foothills of the Appalchians. I haven't riden a bicycle for sveral years but used to do some easy mountain biking.

Have been into hotrods and the like since high school way back in the 60's and this latest race fits me perfectly. I'm a carpenter by trade but retain fabrication skills from building many hotrods and race cars . I'm currently building an off road buggy that will see street service as well.

I enjoy spending time with my wife and soul mate Barbara. I also enjoy the canoeing and backpacking and burn up my winters by racing slot cars if you know what they are.

I look forward to starting my project . I ahve an old 50's/60's Shwinn bicycle that was custom made in the late 70's into a mountain bike when I read the write up in the old Mariah magazine which is now Outside. I want to bring it back to a coaster type bike . A friend gave me a girls parts bike which I'd date in the late 40's early 50's but the name tag has been removed and I'm not sure of the make.

I'm going fenderless and painted rims. The bike is black and the original paint is still good with some yellow overspray from an old rod paint job but I think I can rub it out ok. I like the recersed handle bars as it looks a lot like the turn of the century bicycles.

I see this a s just another way to express our fabrication skills and have a " blast " doing it.
