What brings me to this site? Well I was looking for a new bike, started searching the interweb and came across lots of pics of some cool old bikes and Rat Rods. Then I changed my mind, I no longer wanted a new bike I wanted a old bike to fix up/clean up/Rat out...
Started searching Craigslist, came across a his & hers 1964 Huffy Silver Jet set. Brought'em home, cleaned'em up, and that's when it started.
Then I picked up a 1950's Schwinn Balloon Tire Bike (26" woman's) not all original.. But a decent rider. I paid $40 and I really just wanted the springer forks... and maybe a few other parts.
Then I picked up a couple of 1952 Schwinn frames, his and hers pretty much bare just cranks, sprocket & kick stand on both with ok paint....
I plan to turn the Schwinn's into everyday riders for my wife and I.
Sure glad I found this site, will try and post pics of my Silver Jets soon...
