Hi all!

My name is Lucas, I'm 27 years old, originaly from Stockholm, Sweden but I live in Oslo, Norway right now.

This is my first build ever so I'm learning along the way. It's been a lot of fun and I'll definetly keep doing this.
Anyways..the bike.. I started in 2007 with this damaged frame:

Fixed it up and made som parts..

While visiting friends in Sweden I picked up some parts I had ordered..

Put it all together and got a bit concerned.. the .... thing only reached up to my knees.. :p

But the fat 3" wheels took care of that.. In this picture I just fitted the disc brake.. man that took a lot of measuring and swearing before I got it right. :)

Eventually it looked like this. The inspiration came from WW1/WW2 battle cruisers, hence the matte gray, ropes and riveted plates.
I really wanted a clean handlebar so the brake lever was, as you can see, placed elsewhere. :) ..oh yeah..my girlfriend on the pic..not me :p

I rode the bike like this for about a year, not quite sure what else I wanted to do with it. I just knew it wasn't finished.
In early November this year I made the desition to repaint the whole thing, add a lot of brass details and get more of an Victorian feel to it. Incidently I found this site and the "anything goes contest" at the same time and really wanted to have it done in time for that but I just didn't have the time. ..so this is what it looks like today:

Some parts and detail of the frame..

I'll add more picture along the way. Hope you guys like it!

Peace

Very cool - can't wait to see the finished product!

:) Fantastic! It must be the long winter nights that help you guys create such cool work! Very interested in the 'victorian theme' idea, we have the big Gothic festivals near where I live at Whitby in England and they are very Victorian Influenced, So would be cool to have a cycle to suit! I always fancied something like a Victorian Explorer's Bicycle.
Boris.
