Looks like a good idea , but for it to work better you will need an arm sticking out where the wet painted frame won't swing over and hit the center post part. Or you could take the part off the top and slide the seat post over it and paint it upside down. Either way it should work very good.

well what i do is move that little round deal down ...and put the head tube over the pipe ...it works awsome so far ..i have a frame on there rite now ..ill get a pic or 2 when i go back 2 the shop .....mike

ok here it is in action ...works pretty darn well ...the rod in there keeps it from moving around 2 much ..just pick up on the rod and move it where u wanna go ....tasty !!!!!!! mike

I like your Idea, and thank you! I have a lot to learn, no question.

But so far, I like to run a horizontal rod thru the head tube and hang the frame vertically. the main advantage is that I can paint the drop outs last, and still touch the drop outs to lift and swing the frame itself up horizontal in both directions to paint the underside of all of the tubes without standing on my head.

I have some old re-bar secured horizontal to the ground about eye level. I use the opposite end of the re-bar to hang the fork thru the steer tube. I rotate the forks by touching the steer tube, which does not need paint.

I like your mobile stand idea, tho, ... I can't move my setup if it happens to start raining, or out of the wind until things dry. I guess I'm looking for an old office chair next! :D
