Went by a LBS this morning, and picked up this Sun 29" Cruiser/BMX/Singlespeed bike from one of the guys who works there. It's a hybrid of a 2008 model with some of the parts (bars, stem, seat) removed from his new 2010 model, and some others (chain, cranks) that had been added/aumented over the last year or two. Pictured with my current bomber build for purposes of size comparison.
First order of business was to remove the chainguard and kickstand. Next on the agenda will be a change of gearing, tires and seat. I think I like the bars.
It's my understanding that comparing the two frames side by side, the 2010 model measures a bit larger, as well as including a semi-integrated headset. I'm good with the tighter proportions and the old-school threaded headset.
