Hi all! New to this site and new to custom and retro bikes. I've been riding road and mountain bikes for years but just decided to dabble in vintage bikes this year. I picked up a 1978 Ross Compact in rough shape for $15 a couple months ago. It's not the greatest bike to start with but I really liked the lines of the frame. It's a 26" bike but a small frame so it's too small for me. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it until jokingly one of my co-workers suggested a banana seat. And that's how I stumbled on this site, searching for banana seats.
I just rebuilt the internal 3-speed hub and got new shifter and cable. Still need to source tires, seat, sissy bars, ape hanger and brakes.
Will post pics once my phone starts to cooperate.
