I picked up an 89 Haro Dart from a member at the Cabe. Basically, frame, and wheels. Well the frame triangle had been filled. Thought maybe it had been welded in and I would have to spend some time cutting metal panels off. But when it arrived, I pulled it out of box and frame must have weighed 15 lbs. the flags went up. I took it out to shop and proceeded to investigate. Took a grinder to it and it kept sinking into a gracious application of bondo. Then I took a drill to do a core sample. Straight through. At that point, I was some what relieved but yet perplexed. So I took a hammer to it and slammed it out. Took frame to blasters and repainted. Assembling it with high end campy road bike stuff.I drew up the decals and sent them to Bruce Crawford for printing. Assembling now.
Some progress shots of the debacle so far.
