I had to share this..it's not bike related but it is a work of art if you appreciate a great build! A link to the Video is at the bottom but read this FIRST,

Tractor parts.
*This is almost unbelievable. See how all of the balls wind up in the catcher cones.*

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between The Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa, yes farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it Was WELL worth the effort.

It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.*

That is Waaaaaay cool! How come only 2 minutes of vid? Is the whole thing available somewhere? THanks for the link!

Joe

I recently saw the complete video on a PBS pledge drive. What you are seeing is completly amazing but the only machinery involved are computers. This is part of a computer animation video called Animusic and there is a second one called Animusic II that I was able to get through the public library. There is some very cool animation and music on these videos and if you liked what you saw on the link I would reccomend seeing both of the others....Kelly

Wait, I'm confused now....is this a real instrument that was built or is it all just a computer animated rendering?

Either way it's very cool, but obviously a real instrument would make it mind blowing.
