Schultzie, cool work on this ORBO build so far! Diggin' the vintage mtb vibe with your parts up front.

Some say 'party in the back, business in the front'. I say you got them both going on. Subscribed!

Off RaT Build oN~!

A bit of progress that took way longer than it should have, my plan for front brake was to use the old Formula hydraulic disc off the GT, I replaced with Avid brakes about 10 years ago when I lost pressure in the rear and couldn’t find a master cylinder rebuild kit. After sitting in a box on the shelf for a decade I couldn’t get pressure in the front either, so I went to the evil empire of Amazon and got a Chinese rotor, caliper, lever and cable for $28, about what you’d expect for quality but since all my other bikes are just coaster it should be a bit better. Turns out I should have read the fine print! The rotor came attached to a threaded adaptor for freewheel hub and of course one of the bolts wouldn’t come out nicely so power tools and no return, and of course the bolt pattern didn’t match my front hub. So back to Amazon for a $12 floating rotor that I like the looks of better anyway and I now have front brakes. Thanks for your patience

I got the grips from a coworker who bought them for a jet ski and didn’t like the red, they’ll work here because the crossbar pad has some red and so does the seat… stay tuned

Lookin' good man ! Nice work around on the brake sitchy. Keep the progress coming!

Any progress here my military based comedy star?

Thank you! Got a bit more done this week, black ops bottom bracket because it was relatively inexpensive

I got all these crank parts from Dan’s comp, along with great instructions (with pictures) for installation

the profile sprocket was bought from the rat rod bikes for sale section a couple years ago waiting for a worthy home. If the 44t turns out to be too much I’ve got a 39t chop saw from pork chop Bmx as a backup

Get this bad boy together. Great mix of old and new.

Since there’s only 3 days left I should probably get the wheels under this thing and make it into a bike… shimano front hub, sturmey archer 2 speed kickback rear, gold 3G rims and black spokes, wrapped with the original Michelin tires off the GT that I swapped for something more local terrain specific. Never used a half link chain before but I think they look
