I’ve been wanting to build a klunker type bike for a long time, I got this frame at a swap meet 4 years ago and started collecting parts, and still can’t find the head badge I bought for it. A rollfast badge fits the dirt outline and the mounting holes line up, so that’s what I’m assuming it is. It appeared to have had a tank at some point. My plan is to use some 20 year old mountain bike parts I have collecting dust in a pile, and some new Bmx stuff

The darts are in great shape, I’ll try to gently clean the paint a bit, and a shot of some of the parts I might use…

I figured I should start by seeing what will fit the frame and what won’t, I got the headset from chatty matty here, he turns the cups to the diameter of your head tube so that fit perfectly

the seat post was a different story. The seat tube measured 13/16” but the post I got from pork chop Bmx only went in about an inch without force. A steel rod and a roll of emery cloth makes a handy hone

the bearing cups from the black ops bottom bracket fit correctly also, off to a good start I guess…

Since the headset fits the fork can go on, rock shox Judy race, a great fork in its day, I replaced it with something with thicker stanchions, but it’s got coil springs, oil cartridges and adjustable preload and rebound damping. It was originally set up with 100mm travel but it’s internally adjustable to 80mm so I did that for this frame.

I put some Jones bars on the GT a few years ago to make it more comfy for my beat up old man body, and the center is larger diameter than the old bars so I had to change the stem too, these are the take offs, azonic bar and synchros stem

Very Nice ! Can I ask What headset ? And What size is the steer tube?
Thanks
thank you! steer tube is 1 1/8", got the headset from chattymatty on here, it's a no name chinese one that he turned to fit the head tube. I actually bought it a few years back when I first got the frame, he hasnt't posted anything in a couple years but you could try a PM, or if you have access to a lathe...
