I am rebuilding the New Departure Model D hub on my '55 Spitfire. I know on my red band kickback you are supposed to grease everything except the disc pack which gets oiled. Is the same true for the Model D? Grease everything and oil the disc pack? Or does the the disc pack get greased as well?

Thanks! That's what I thought, just wanted to be sure. I will post a how-to on it later.
With pics.

But of course! I got it all cleaned up this morning, makes the dissassembly pics easier to see when it is clean.

3-in-1 has a tendency to bond with water molecules from condensation and solidify when not in use. There are no little ratchets or gears to goo up in a Model D, so it's not going to damage it. Come spring, though, it'll be stiff and need cleaning. What's left in the bottle after putting oil in your car is better.
