Ok I bought two rear 7 speeds from the big Electra Buyathon. I took one apart and laced a front hub to it.
The other one I took one of the rims like Chuck sells and painted it red. They take the 105 spokes. I ordered
some from Husky. !0'' long and laced my loose 7 speed to it. Came out nice. I will paint a front and have a set
of red ones too. They didn't have the stainless in the 10'' 105 . They were $19 for 72 with nipples. Had to drill
out the hub just a little. Worked good.

Unc, I know this isn't a "how to" thread but will you please share with me some details on your drilling out the holes on your hub. I respect your knowledge and will be doing the same very soon with one of my new 3 speed hubs I got from the sale. I'd hate to learn the hard way with a brand new hub. Currently I'm a guy with two hands and a cordless drill who's considering knocking on the garage door of a neighbor who has a drill press with a 6 pack in my hand!

Pudge I have several front hubs that came with 12 g spokes. I stuck drill bits in those holes till I found
one that just fit. I checked and its 1/8th. I left the black plastic axel protectors on. It make the hub
sit flat and just drilled out each hole. Its not very much. I have a drill press so its easy. The 12g spokes
worked good and the 10'' length is good on a regular....not drop center rim.
I got a set of 256mm ones coming from Amazon. About $18 shipped. May use them if I can find a 2 1/2''
wide rim cheap somewhere.
Side Note: My length is on a 7 speed hub. If your doing a 3 speed it looks like you add an 1/8th to 3/16ths to
a regular rim from the drop centers.
