the wife picked up these two pacific cycle made schwinns at a yearly "yard sale" that is held every year. pacific bicycles was there selling these and others. they are "seconds" with slight paint defects/scrapes. she picked both up for $140. i know they don't have a very good reputation for quality, but they are good looking and nice rides for the money. the black one is a single speed 26incher and the orange/white is a 26incher 7 speed. will probably ride them for a little bit and re-sale them.

Personally, I think they're as good as a dept. store bike gets. I've had one for close to 2 years now. Clearly it isn't as sturdy as an old US built, (besides the fork, which is way better) but I use it accordingly, keep it lubed and adjusted and so far it works fine.

i thought they seem to be a good ride, i just was going by what i read on a few review forums. heck, everyone has something to complain about though! :wink:

That's a pretty good deal for two new bikes! Can't really compare them to the old Schwinns of yore, but they're ok overall. -Adam

is that 7 speed an internal geared hub? If so... Nice score!

If not... still not a bad deal. Dont think your gonna get hurt any at that price.

I think you did very well. Pick out the "good" parts, and I bet they add up to more than you paid.

Take all the moving parts apart and re-pack and adjust, and I think you will have a major improvements.

Just my .02 and that's won't buy much!
