paint chrome finders

i need advice if its possible to paint my chrome finders on my cruizer... :?:

Yes, but you have to rough up the surface by bead blasting or sanding. I'd scuff it up with 320 or 400 grey automotive sandpaper. Clean with laquer thinner after sanding. Prime them first with the same brand of paint you are using to make sure things are compatible. Gary

Would self etching primer help here? Or would the chrome be too hard?
