Hi folks,

I'm not too bad with paint. I know that prep is the key for a nice finish.

I have this real nice grey colour at home, flat and just grey, but it's acrylic. I know that I have to use acrylic primer and clear coat if I'm using acrylic paint and vice versa for enamel, but what would be better to use for a frame? What's the harder wearing? Or what would be the big pro's/cons of using either?

Any help appreciated!

Tim.

acrylic Lacquer or enamel?
None will really hold up as good as factory paint
enamel shines, if it is put on wet.
lacquer dries FAST, and needs polised to shine well. Or clear it, with a lacquer, and still polish it.
do some reading, online. But specify lacquer or enamel, not acrylic. Most paints ARE acrylic, regardless of type.
Hope this helps, or maybe confused ya more?

That does help a bit actually. Cheers!
Will keep pics going in the build thread I started yesterday.
