I guess you could paint the outside of the plates, but I don't think it would look good for very long. :?

Hey why not paint a chain? Heck I'll try anything once or usually twice....yea, I'm a slow learner. Anyway, here is a chain I painted red about a year ago, still looks great and is holding up fine. I also did one in black for another bike too. It was a new chain, and I cleaned it fairly good with PPG wax & greese remover before painting it. Did a couple light coats with rattle can red, didn't want to get to heavy with the paint.

Been wondering this one myself..noticing alot of these 'fixie" guys with the chain the same color of the bikes..how do they do it ???? looks cool...

They buy a pre-colored one from KMC :mrgreen:

I have a green one on my cycle truck to match the pinstriping.
