i've been working on a bike that i want to be yellow. i just came aross some alloy pedals around the house that would work if i could paint them. is there any paint durable enough to work on pedals? it's just a cruiser so no dirt jumping or anything rough, but still they'd get some abuse being pedals. anyone tried it? thanks.

I dont know about paint, but powder coating is pretty tough. It will still wear out though. If the pedals are aluminum the toughest coating would be "hard coat" anodize. Its thicker and tougher than "standard" anodizing. It will take a long time to wear through that. Here's a crazy idea, how about truck bed liner?

never thought of bed liner. i'll look around and see if i can find it in yellow. thanks.

i wasn't really thinking powder coating 'cause i figure the cost of getting it done would be more than just buying some yellow pedals. buying some is probaly what i'll end up doing, but i figured i'd ask first.

+1 on sand off the contact surfaces.
How about some Candy or "Metallics" type paint so they still look metallic? :|

having them still look metalic isn't that important to me. i'm kinda going for a monochrome look more or less. i'll look into tractor paint too. now that i think of it, i have some oil based enamel, but i'd have to brush it on.
