i used some of mine to make trophies for an upcoming race me and a friend are planning. that bottle opener is amazing! and the coaster brake pepper shaker is so cool!! nice work guys!
i figured rrb was the place for this sort of ingenuity! cman- i've tried that sprocket opener too, i didn't have much luck w/out a flat spot at the rear of the opening. also did some schwinn shifters but that 'pot metal' didn't hold up for me. that pepper grinder is neat i wish i could think of a use for front hub shells, they seem to be everywhere....locojoe- that paper towel holder is really clever, love the 'skid mark'. keep 'em coming guys, i know there's more out there!
You can see in my pic there is a front hub. I made it into a salt shaker. Pretty simple. I just removed the bearings, added a clear sheet plastic and used the bearing retainer to hold into place. Poke a few holes and cork the bottom. Chris King uses their second hubs to make salt shakers and sell at $60.
thanks for digging this one up again!
i dont have pictures of it but i made a watch band out of 2 chains(maybe fireproof will snap a picture of it since its on his slow race trophy...hint hint)
