Pedals Optional 2011 Spring Bicycle Rally
Spring is the perfect time to get your bicycle up and running! What better way to do this than at the 2011 Pedals Optional Spring Rally? All types of bicycles and local bicycle friendly organizations will be in attendance, as well as local bike friendly businesses, live music, a bicycle swap meet, raffle, and bike show with trophies! Pedal bikes and auto bikes of up to 100cc’s are the focus of this all age, free event, located just off the Greenway at the Hexagon Bar!
Minneapolis, Minnesota; March 23, 2011 – Saturday, April 30th, 2011 The Hexagon Bar will be hosting the second Pedals Optional Bicycle Rally. From 1-8 pm, bicycles, rat bikes, vintage, homemade, and auto bicycles of all types, up to 100cc’s, will be on show. The all age event also features a swap meet, raffle of local donated items, bicycle friendly businesses, live local music, and fun, ALL OUTSIDE!
Thirty Days of Biking is utilizing the event as the closing celebration for their “Month of Biking” event. Located right off of the Greenway and numerous bike paths in South Minneapolis, the Hexagon Bar is an ideal location for the all-day event. All types of bicycles are welcomed at the event, and welcomed to be entered to compete for trophies in a variety of categories.
Tony Logan, one of the event organizers, stated “we would like to bring the local bike community closer together. There is not an event anywhere like Pedals Optional, and we want to support Minneapolis’ amazing bicycling culture.”
