persons siren question

hey guys..i just bought a persons majestic siren in the box with all the little bits to go with it..for some reason though when i am out riding it doesnt make any noise.the blades turn but there is no noise.any idea as to what i may have done wrong or how to fix the situation?any help would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you have it on the right (not left) side of the wheel. Also mount it so the spindle is as close to the tire's tread as possible.

thanks for the help guys..yeah, its on the right side and its touching the tire fine..the fins spin but no sound? i dont understand that.but to answer your question as to where i got mine.. i found it on ebay. like you said i havent seen anywhere else to find one. memory lane is a cool store though so check them out

Right or Left or whatever, if it's spinning I say try making it go the other direction for sound. Raise the wheel and spin it backwards to test that theory.

It needs to be spinning and have air passing through it. I got no results from mine bench testing it. Test on your bike. The faster you go, the louder it gets. Fresh grease in the bearings helps, also make sure the fins aren't rubbing on anything.
I got mine on clist with a 40 Schwinn.

is it in front of the fork or in back of it? It needs to be in front...

its in the front but im thinking that the fins may be brushing something as stated above. it seems to turn freely when yopu spin it by hand but on the bike it binds up and it makes an almost rubbing sound when i spin it by hand. if thats the case what do i need to do?can it be taken apart? i know its probly easier to just do it then ask but i dont want to run the risk of it not ever being the same if i do take it apart and it isnt supposed to be.thanks again guys for all your help.

The sirens are pretty simple to take apart but just be aware the bearings are loose and can get lost if your not careful.
