i did look around and used the search function first, but no luck.
if this has been covered before i am sorry.

i was thinkin' about buildin' my own truing stand. i think it would be pretty easy.

who has built their own? pix please.
thanx in advance.

i've used frames and/or forks clamped into a bench vice before.
i was thinkin' about welding up some angle iron into an adjustable slide track.
i think i could do that for about 10 clams insted of buyin' one for 50 to 150 bux.

i mite do it anyhow. i was just curious if anyone made thier own on the cheap.

I've used a frame or fork - depending on if it's front or rear wheel - and a magnetic base dial guage. Worked great for truing, but not so well for re-dishing wheels.

The dial guage was about 18 bucks at Princess Auto.

I used the frame or fork method. But I use some thin wood strips cut from some 1x6. They are adjustable by use of a spring loaded clamp. That way I can set both sides up and tru both ways.
