I saw a thread on here a while back where someone built a girls bike that had pinkwall tires, I've searched forever and cant find it on here, and cant find anything on yahoo search either. Anyone know where I can find some pinkwall balloon tires for my girlfriends bike? Also need a pink/black or pink/white seat. Electras site has nothing.

i know electra made them a few years back....also memory lane used to have them listed(just looked and theyre not listed any longer) only other thing id suggest is ask where those in the links you posted came from...

Thanks for the reply. I did send pm's to those who have them asking for brand names and where they got them

maybe make your own?

i'm on a rollerskate forum and just recently found out people dye urethane rollerskate wheels with rit dye and seem real happy with the results. maybe it would work on a white wall too. maybe experiment with an old one to see if it works and how much dye it takes to get the shade you want.

Sounds interesting, what is rit dye though? Where can I get it?

Electra made them a cpl of years back...i bought a set for my wife they fadedout after awhile....found someBrillo color spray...in a rattle can...it is a leather coloring...designed for leather vinyl and plastic....seems to work well....just was a pain masking it.

I freehanded this old black 1 3/8 tire to see how the acrylic paint worked. My hand isn't as steady as it used to be, but it worked. The paint seems to adhere well. It helps to have a ridge on the tire to use as a guide as you paint, unless you want to mask off the tire. Also, the little nubs on the tires should be taken off, I didn't do it with this tire but should have.
