Yes, it is some sort of carpet pad, I suppose. It was in the trunk of a old VW that I bought last year. It was too thick, so I was able to peel it apart and thin it down.
That won't last long.

I can see it now. Someone asks "What shade of leather did you use on that seat?" I say "seven layer burrito"
Still getting my fenders to fit. Had to notch out the rear for the seat stays. Tire clearance is tight.
Then I had to move the rear brace to where the blue tape is located.
It just didn't look right to me with the new mounting tabs I'm using. Then I had to shorten the upper fender brace to fit.
How it sits right now.
Have to do something similar to the front fender to get the fender to clear around the fork legs.

I still needed a bracket to secure the front of the rear fender. The Schwinn exerciser donated another part for this.

Actually not finished. Still need to grind it some more and get it welded on.

Finished my bracket and got welded on.
I found a kickstand that is too short, but I have a plan(sort of) to lengthen it.
Bike is all broken down now to finish grinding all of my crappy looking welds.
Hopefully, I can get some primer on the frame tomorrow.

The frame is done. Mudded up the joints yesterday. About 20 minutes to put on and 3 hours to sand back off. Now off to the paint booth.

Added second frame color. Rustoleum Lobster red over Tuscan Sun yellow
Threw a little color on my cranks while I was at it.
Hope to get done painting tomorrow and start final assembly on Friday.

WOW!!! I loved this bike bare because of how beautiful the frame turned out! But man! That color scheme is awesome!!!!!! Keep plugging away brother!
