I am wondering how to remove and reinstall fender braces from the fenders on my cruiser, they are the kind that connect to the fender in the middle front and back.
I would like to restore them or possible get completely new ones.
It looks like they are riveted on or something and I want to be able to put them back on without a riveter

If you bead blast your old braces, then spray them with Krylon clear satin, they'll look like new and last a long time before the rust comes back. Gary

you can also get bolts that look like rivets that most schwinn resto places carry that are pretty cheap(they have no slot for phillips/flat head just a flat top like the original rivets and look the part)

You can also use metal spikes that screw together if you want to go custom. You can buy them at a leather supply store.

These are the type of tips that keep me coming back every day ... errr... make that many times a day! :D I'm days away from that part of my project and probably would have rattle canned 'em with a color and made 'em look cheesey. Thanks!
