I have a beautiful, unrestored Sears Spyder (?) bike made by Murray. The seat, grips bars and fenders are perfect. It is a single speed coaster braker with a front hand brake. I have done nothing besides put air in the tires.

I have tried to identify the year through the CABE's Murray Serial Number Project, but came up short. The serial number is 502 (Sears) 4776 and then eight digits. The frame is nearly identical to my 1966 Murray Wildcat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This bike has Sears exclusive numbering, 4776 is the sears catalog # minus a couple prefix letters. Although I'd expect 5 digits on a mid-late 60s bike. My book only goes up to 65, but I believe there are some later 60s sears cat's on the net somewhere. You might be able to find your model there. -Adam
